On the morning of October 23, the Shanghai Science and Technology Award 2023 was held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. A total of five projects of Shanghai Electric won the first and second prizes, among which “the key technology, equipment and application of fine control of battery energy storage system” participated by Shanghai Electric Power Electronics Co., Ltd. won the first prize.

According to the project leader of the “key technology, equipment and application of fine control of battery energy storage system”, through the development of intelligent decentralized energy storage system with high safety and fine control, it can achieve fine energy storage battery control. Combined with pre-diagnostic technology, the use of electronic power battery unit and its combination of expansion system topology and control technology, it will address the economic and safety challenges of energy storage. The project&39;s voltage-compensated converter-based battery cluster parallel connection technology, which accounts for only 2% of system power and 0.1% of system losses, further enhances the safety, grid friendliness, and operational efficiency of distributed energy storage systems. At present, new products using this technology have been promoted both at home and abroad, with significant demonstration effect, economic benefits, and broad market prospects.
In addition to the research results of the emerging power system, Shanghai Electric has also made great achievements in the fields of aviation power, nuclear island equipment, etc., highlighting the series of outcomes attained by the Group as a whole in following the national strategy and accelerating the implementation of the Group&39;s "2+X" cooperation. Among them, the “low-emission and high-stability combustion technology and application for civil aviation engine based on non-constant combustion theory” provides technical support for the energy-saving, efficient and stable operation of domestic aviation engine, and the “development and industrialization of complete sets of large forgings for Hualong I nuclear island equipment” further verifies the safety and maturity of “Hualong I”, a third-generation nuclear power technology with independent intellectual property rights in China.
It is understood that after the initial evaluation, re-evaluation, final evaluation and validation by the Shanghai Science and Technology Award Committee, a total of 214 items (people) were awarded the Shanghai Science and Technology Award 2023, including 29 technological invention awards and 114 scientific and technological progress awards. Compared with the past, the difficulty of winning a Shanghai Science and Technology Award has been further improved, with the total number of awards reduced from less than 300 to about 200, and the third prizes eliminated.
