A pep rally was held a few days ago for Shanghai Electric Guoxuan&39;s project for energy storage systems in Nantong to speed up base construction. The trial production is expected to commence in June. The event was featured in local news media.

The main plant measures 360m long north-south and 180m wide east-west, equivalent to nine standard football fields. It is the largest single plant in Nantong. The plant has been completed and accepted, and equipment 800 million yuan worth have been purchased and put in place for installation and commissioning.

Invested by Shanghai Electric and Gotion Hi-tech, the project aims to build an energy storage base and bring domestic energy storage technologies to overseas markets. With a total input of around 5 billion yuan, the project consists of two phases, and Phase I includes a 5GWh production line for energy storage battery. It is positioned as the largest and most advanced base in Shanghai and Nantong for energy storage systems, mainly lithium-ion battery.
