Shanghai Electric recently was entrusted by Zhejiang Petroleum & Chemical with its Phase II seawater desalinization pretreatment project with a daily capacity of 960,000 tons following its Phase I project that processes 200,000 tons of seawater through thermal desalination every day.

Phase II project involves both thermal and membrane desalination. Shanghai Electric&39;s processing technology through large horizontal sand filters will make its debut in membrane desalination pretreatment.
