On the morning of April 9 (local time), Zhu Zhaokai, President of Shanghai Electric Group, led a delegation to visit Samruk-Energy in Kazakhstan. During the visit, he held talks with Maxutov Kairat Berikovich, a member of the company’s Board of Directors. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on topics including the upgrading and transformation of traditional energy systems, large-scale development of renewable energy, and the construction of smart energy systems.

Zhu Zhaokai expressed gratitude for Samruk-Energy’s long-standing trust and support, and introduced Shanghai Electric’s industrial presence and integrated service capabilities in the global energy equipment sector. He stated that the two sides have already established a solid foundation through cooperation on several major projects. Shanghai Electric is willing to become a long-term and reliable strategic partner of Samruk-Energy, focusing on areas such as high-efficiency clean coal power upgrades, large-scale renewable energy development, hydrogen energy and energy storage system solutions. The company aims to provide full lifecycle technologies and services, fully align with Kazakhstan’s energy transition strategy, and jointly embrace a new era of green and low-carbon energy.

Maxutov Kairat Berikovich welcomed Zhu Zhaokai and his delegation. He noted that Samruk-Energy highly values its strategic partnership with Shanghai Electric and looks forward to expanding cooperation based on existing projects. He expressed hope that Shanghai Electric would actively participate in key projects in Kazakhstan, including the upgrading of traditional power plants, deployment of energy storage systems, and smart grid transformation. He also encouraged both sides to explore cooperation in emerging areas such as green hydrogen production, integrated energy services, and energy digitalization, jointly tapping into new opportunities in the energy markets of Central Asia and beyond.
