On the morning of October 1 (local time), the signing ceremony for the P?l?u Phase II 342 MW Photovoltaic EPC Project in Romania was successfully held. Wu Lei, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shanghai Electric Group, and Andrea Loi, Vice President of Operations at Econergy Renewable Energy Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as “Econergy”), attended and witnessed the signing. This collaboration marks a new milestone in the strategic synergy between the two companies in the field of clean energy and will inject strong momentum into the region’s energy transition.

During the ceremony, Wu Lei presented Shanghai Electric’s latest achievements and overall capabilities in clean energy and smart manufacturing. He stated that Shanghai Electric places great importance on cooperation with international partners, noting that Econergy has extensive experience in the development and operation of renewable energy projects. With highly complementary strengths, the two sides enjoy broad prospects for collaboration. Wu Lei expressed the hope that the successful signing of the P?l?u Phase II Project will further expand cooperation between the two companies in wider areas, including photovoltaics, wind power, and power transmission and distribution, so as to jointly contribute to addressing global climate change and advancing regional energy transition.

Andrea Loi warmly welcomed Wu Lei and his delegation, and spoke highly of Shanghai Electric’s technological capabilities and global reputation in power equipment and energy engineering. He noted that the P?l?u Phase II Project is one of Econergy’s key strategic initiatives in Romania and the broader Central and Eastern European region. The decision to select Shanghai Electric as the major partner reflects strong confidence in the company’s technological reliability, project execution capabilities, and international project experience. He expressed expectations that both teams would work closely together to ensure smooth progress and on-time commissioning of this important project.

To date, Shanghai Electric has successfully completed three photovoltaic projects in Romania: the 92 MW P?l?u Phase I PV Project, the 56 MW Scurtu Mare PV Project, and the 60 MW Ovidiu EPC PV Project. The newly signed P?l?u Phase II 342 MW EPC PV Project marks Shanghai Electric’s fourth photovoltaic project in Romania.
